Next Fill Quantity

Next Fill Quantity is used for making a change to the quantity that will be dispensed for the next fill if different from the first fill. For example, if the initial fill of a Prescription is dispensing 30 tablets and the next fill is dispensing 90 tablets.

To use Next Fill Quantity:

1. In Rx Detail, select the Extended tab.

2. Under the Prescription section, either

   • Enter the amount to be dispensed for the next fill in the Next Fill Quantity field.

   • Enter the number of days the Prescription will be Refilled for in the Days Supply field.

3. Process the Prescription as usual.

For the next Refill, the Qty will auto-populated based on the Next Fill Quantity or Days Supply fields entered in the initial fill.

When a patient on Ontario Drug Benefit starts a new medication, Next Fill Quantity can be used to comply with the Initial Days Supply rules for chronic medications.
